Why Everyone Should Have a Personal Website
Social media platforms come and go. Their algorithms decide who sees what you write, and their terms of service decide whether you can keep writing at all.
A personal website is different. You own the domain, you own the files, and you decide what goes on it.
The best time to start a website was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.
It doesn’t have to be complicated
You don’t need a CMS, a JavaScript framework, or a monthly subscription. A handful of HTML files on a static host is enough. Tools like Hugo just make writing those files more pleasant.
